COME, ENTER THE NEW YEAR WITH THE ENCOURAGERS
This group is excited to see how God touches our lives on relevant issues in today's world.  It is open to all faiths, as well as those searching.  About one third of the group comes from outside the Saratoga Church family. There is no formal membership...people are encouraged to come when they are drawn to a subject , when personal schedules are free, and when friendship and support from others is needed. 

The winter meeting, Friday morning, January 18, 9:30 - 11:30, will feature Margi Rhode (daughter of longtime members, Ruth and Don Wycoff) speaking on "DELVING DEEPLY IN THE WORD:  PRAYER AND THE CREATIVE PROCESS". 

The spring meeting,  April 5,  will host Marcia Green, R.N. sharing "LIFE STYLE, STRESS, BLOOD PRESSURE AND THE BIBLE IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES". These meetings can be a  CHRISTmas present for yourself or a friend,  no shopping, no buying, no wrapping,  but what a lasting gift!

ENCOURAGERS was formed as an opportunity for people to meet and discuss how God touches our lives on relevant issues in today's world, and is open to all faiths as well as those exploring. Gatherings are 3 times a year -- spring, fall and winter -- in SPC's Fireside Room.  People are encouraged to come when they are drawn to a subject or topic or when friendship and support from others is needed.
 
Coffee and fellowship starts at 9:30 till 10 am.  Topics are presented, with speakers leading, followed by questions and lively discussion till 11:30.  Subjects are suggested by the group at the end of each year for the following season.  Over the past 14 years, ENCOURAGERS has touched on many areas, such as Growing in Grace -- The Demands of Today's World, Trust God in the Midst of Trials, Managing Major Life Transitions, Depression and Joy, and Bridging the Generation Gap.
 
In addition, ENCOURAGERS also sponsors yearly service projects to help others in our community and the expanding world, as chosen by the group.  A few of the projects undertaken by ENCOURAGERS in the past are food for the pantry at City Team, school supplies for the San Jose Family Shelter, CARE boxes for our Afghanistan troops, school needs in Ghana,  Operation Christmas Child Boxes, infant clothes for the Assistance League of Saratoga - Los Gatos, and knitted newborn caps for El Camino Hospital.
